We believe that real environmental change starts with people, and the best place to begin is with the next generation. That belief inspired the launch of our annual tree-planting initiative in June 2024, in celebration of World Environment Day.
What began as a simple idea, to plant trees with students, has quickly grown into a meaningful program that combines environmental restoration with education and community engagement.
In 2024, our team visited several schools across Accra, including Dominion International School Spintex, as well as basic schools in Ashaiman and Ashale Botwe. Working alongside pupils and teachers, we planted trees within school compounds, creating greener spaces while teaching students the importance of environmental stewardship.
The experience went beyond just planting seedlings. It was about sparking curiosity, encouraging responsibility, and helping students understand their role in protecting the environment. Each tree planted became a symbol of growth, not only for the environment but for the young minds involved.
Since launching the initiative, we have planted an estimated 1,000 trees, with approximately 400 already thriving under proper care and nurturing. This is a promising start, and it reinforces an important lesson: planting is just the beginning—sustained care is what ensures lasting impact.
Our commitment is simple but powerful: every year, we will continue to mark World Environment Day by engaging schools in tree planting and environmental education. While we are expanding our activities to include other impactful initiatives, this program remains a core part of how we give back to communities and contribute to climate action.
As we look ahead, we are excited to deepen our reach, plant even more trees, and continue nurturing a culture of environmental consciousness among young people.
Because when we plant trees, we are not just restoring the environment—we are planting hope for a more sustainable future.
